The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click on OK to terminate the application.

After a certain amount of time or reaching a certain point, any attempt to start any and all program will result in the error message above. Even Task Manager won’t start.

The (apparent) solution is given here. An hour before this the problem occurred again even after the steps described were taken several weeks ago.

What’s going on here?

Dream

I dreamed about someone that I have not thought about in a very long time.

In reality, I am trying to forget said person.

Perhaps my subconscious still remembers that person.

Grandma has fallen ill.

This morning she couldn’t move her right arm. By afternoon, she couldn’t move her right leg. We had to carry her to and from the toilet. At 2 p.m., we took her to the family clinic and the doctor recommended that a scan of the brain is done. BP at this time is 203 and 215 on the second count.

TO Normah we went. BP is 255. CT scan showed no abnormalities. Grandma was taken to General Hospital in an ambulance.

At Emergency Room, diagnosis is still uncertain. Arrived at 4 p.m., admitted to ward at 10 – they say there’s no empty bed, but there is.

30.8/40

Guess what – I got 30.8 out of 40 marks for the semester course work. Now I must pass the final exam in order to pass this subject.

*morale goes through the roof*

Note to self: pester Dr. X after finals.

Abandon hope, all ye in finals

Ah ye, I’m at sixth floor. Doing my project report and procrastinating, as usual.

Looking back, this has been an interesting semester. The drive to succeed is there, unlike several previous semesters where I can’t even move my ass to study a week before the finals. Maybe it’s a part of growing old, maybe I’m risking too many things to actually not be able to not care anymore.

If I can keep my drive up like this, the whole course will be one smooth sailing. Maybe it’s a good thing, after fooling around for four years and obtaining nothing.

p/s: Dr. X said I can get a cubicle!

What intended to be a little chat after class ended up taking twenty minutes of our time. With luck, I might finish a paper next year. Before that, however, I need to pick up a new medium first. The concepts are same, but I do not know whether adapting to the medium will be easy or not.

In other news, Friday’s haul:
